FAQ
How long do I need in the studio?
This is a very hard question to answer without specific details of your project so please get in touch for an accurate answer but for a typical 4 piece band looking to record 2-3 songs to a good standard, a 2-4 day booking would be about right. This would include enough time for overdubs and mixing.
Why should I use a studio?
I have written a long article on this subject here but for a brief summary read on. Home recording is a very useful tool for writing and preparing songs for recording but is not a substitute for professional studio work. It is possible to pay a couple of thousand to have your own basic recording setup at home but for the same money spent at a professional studio you will have tens or even hundreds of thousands worth of facilities at your disposal. But most importantly you have professional engineers working the equipment. We do this everyday and we've been doing it for years. You should allow yourselves the freedom to focus on your music and let the technical aspects be looked after by people who really know what they're doing. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. Your listeners will thank you.

Does the price include mixing and mastering?
Simple answer is the price includes whatever you want to do in the time you have booked. Most sessions we do will end with mixing the tracks. You may choose to book additional time after the session for mixing to take place. For bands on a budget we can offer mastering as well but we much prefer to set you up with one of our trusted mastering engineers. We work with a handful of local mastering studios which always produce fantastic results. We wholeheartedly recommend both Dave at Hiltongrove Mastering and Nigel at Lowland Masters to give your record the care and attention it deserves.
